Trio MDM launches a brand new Remote Operations - remotely execute scripts, deploy commands, and automate device management at enterprise scale.
Today we're rolling out Remote Operations, a brand new category in Trio MDM that groups every hands-on device tool the admin console gives you. Three features sit under it: Remote Commands, Terminal, and Remote Desktop. All three got attention in this release.
If you've been running scripts, opening shells, or taking over screens across your fleet, the path to these tools is changing. The tools got better too.
What shipped, and where to find it, below.
Remote Operations is the new home for Remote Commands, Terminal, and Remote Desktop
Remote Commands (previously Commands) got UI and template updates
Terminal launches as a standalone feature
Remote Desktop replaces the Trio Desk with refreshed framing inside the admin workflow
All three tools sit inside the Maintenance tab of every device detail view
Remote Operations is the category we've grouped Trio MDM's hands-on device tools into. When an IT admin needs to do something on a device in the moment, like running a script, opening a shell, or taking over a screen, it falls under Remote Operations.
Pulling these tools into one place makes the admin console easier to walk through. It gives each feature room to grow without crowding the main navigation.
Remote Commands is the feature you've been calling Commands. Same core behavior: write or pick a saved command, target a device or device group, and run. Templates, scheduling, ad-hoc execution, and post-enrollment commands are all part of it.
What changed in this release:
Remote Commands runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Terminal is launching as a standalone feature. For anyone new to it: Terminal opens a real shell on a managed device from the admin console. No need to ssh in. No third-party tool.
What's new:
Terminal sits next to Remote Commands inside the device detail view. When a script alone won't do the job, you drop into a shell.
What used to live on the Trio Desk page is Remote Desktop. The feature itself is the same in spirit: full screen sharing and control of a managed endpoint.
The refresh is about where it lives and how you find it. Remote Desktop belongs in the IT admin's daily toolkit, not on a separate product page, so it sits inside Trio MDM under Remote Operations.
What's new:
Remote Desktop supports the major desktop platforms.
Access Remote Operations from the main navigation, where it has been added under the Fleet section along with its three subcategories.
